The Adminstartive Officer to be based in our Tanzania Mwanza office

Main Duties:

Analyze incoming and outgoing memoranda, submissions and reports and prepare and co-ordinate the preparation and submission of summary briefs and reports to the Director
Prepare agendas and make arrangements for committee, board and other meetings
Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by the Director.
Meet with individuals, special interest groups and others on behalf of the Director to discuss issues and assess and recommend various courses of action
Liaise with departmental and corporate officials and with other organizations and associations on behalf of the Director.

Academic Qualifications

A minimum of a degree in a relevant field such as business management, agriculture, development studies, etc.
At least 2 years’ experience of providing support to an NGO team of professional staff, where a considerable amount of analytical skills are called for.
Some understanding of and / or experience in budget management
Independent and able to work with minimal guidance and instruction.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent Computer skills – Microsoft Office

Projects Coordinator - Dodoma Tanzania

The main responsibilities of the Project Coordinator are:

  1. Lead in the coordination and day to day implementation of the project including delivery of Food Hunger-led project activities, budget oversight, work planning and reporting. This entails development and execution of detailed implementation plans, having a teaching and facilitative role, staff supervision as well as monitoring and evaluation of the project.
  2. Technical lead in partners capacity building and training onthematic areas of financial inclusion, enterprise development, community savings and loaning schemes, including content generation, training and follow-up, and support in deployment of training to target project beneficiaries.
  3. Facilitate Food Hunger initiated innovation initiatives at the field level in close consultations with the Area Programme Manager, Head of Programme, Food Hunger consortium partners and relevant key stakeholders. These will include digitising key elements in the pyrethrum value chain interventions by Food Hunger and partners as well as improving technical solutions in reducing pre & post-harvest losses.
  4. Ensure that all financial and narrative reporting (internal and external) are completed in a timely and accurate manner (including quarterly reports covering systems and projects, donor reports, etc.)
  5. Network and coordinate with other field operational I/NGOs, UN Agencies and Government and explore/advise on possible areas of collaboration/partnerships to enhance program synergy.
  6. Facilitate, support and initiate digitised baseline, monitoring and evaluation data collection and other assessments and generate relevant reports as well as support concept paper development at the field level as part of Food Hunger fundraising efforts.
  7. Facilitate/support collaboration and cross learning among Food Hunger projects & partners through information sharing, exposure visits and active partner participation in Food Hunger platforms/forums.
  8. Facilitate logistical arrangements for Food Hunger staff, consultant field visits and donor visits in consultation with the Area Programme Manager.
  9. Perform any other responsibilities as determined and assigned by the Area Programme Manager from time to time.

Professional Qualifications:

  • University level education in business, development studies, social sciences or any other relevant academic qualification.
  • Demonstrable expertise in agri-business support, organisational capacitydevelopment and intensive lobbying and advocacy aimed at enhancing economic empowerment of smallholder farmers.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a proven team player. Self-driven and results orientated in challenging rural working environments.
  • Experience in training at field/community level and excellent reporting skills. Excellence in English, oral and written.

    Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Mwanza Tanzania

    Job Summary:

    Under the guidance and supervision of the Deputy Executive Director, the M&E Officer will be responsible for designing and overseeing all monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, including ensuring full compliance with donor requirements, lead the program team in defining outcome indicators, developing data collection tools and methodologies, and conduct program assessments and evaluation activities.

    The post holder will ensure the M&E component is well integrated at the program’s planning stages and regularly monitor project activities to ensure the desired impact and will be based in Tanzania Office.

    Job Responsibilities

    Facilitate, design, and conduct data collection and monitoring exercises on a regular basis to support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of Food Hunger Tanzania programs using primary or secondary data sources, including undertaking regular field visits.
    Undertake and facilitate the implementation of the M&E plan, regularly revising and updating performance questions, indicators, methods, and formats.
    Coordinate and ensure the quality of baseline, mid-term, and end-term surveys for all projects.
    Develop data quality assurance processes to ensure validity, timeliness, proper analysis and reporting of all data collected through Food Hunger Tanzania toll-free line.
    Develop and keep track of a Food Hunger Tanzania database to ensure proper documentation of the long-term results of Food Hunger Tanzania’s program interventions.
    Ensure the programme’s planning tools, including work plans and log frames, are accurate during proposal development.
    Promote a results-based approach to M&E, emphasizing results and impacts.
    Lead, prepare and support the programme team in producing consolidated quarterly and annual progress reports in accordance with approved deadlines and reporting formats.
    Monitor development and implementation of program activities included in the annual work plan, focusing on results, impacts, documenting success stories and lesson learning.
    Conduct regular monitoring & evaluations of Food Hunger Tanzania’s implementing partners, including Community Based Organizations CBOs), paralegals and service providers’ performance and delivery.
    Identify best practices and develop case studies to capture and promote qualitative results of Food Hunger Tanzaniaprograms.
    Ensure timely submission of quality internal and external narrative reports.
    Identify problems with the M&E system and modify the system as necessary.
    Ensure that staff are receiving adequate support to be able to implement their M&E functions.
    Create a knowledge management strategy and framework.
    Organize and provide refresher training in M&E for staff.
    Any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

    Job Specification:

    Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Information Sciences, Project Management, Research, Statistics or related disciplines.
    Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a monitoring and evaluation role, preferably in the NGO sector.
    Demonstrable experience using various quantitative methodologies for data analysis, including analyses using statistical tools such as Ms. Excel, Google Sheets, SPSS, or STAT.
    Experience in conducting program evaluations, including designing data collection tools/instruments, data visualization and presentation, and successfully drafting M&E technical reports.
    Proven experience in performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, and developing M&E and/performance monitoring plans.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
    Ability to frequently travel across the country for data collection and monitoring exercises.
